The eldest of five children, Yvonne was born May 17, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised in East Point, Georgia, she moved to Jackson County, Ga. until 2006 then moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where she currently makes her home.

After a 34 year absence, returned to college in 2004. Graduated with honors in Criminal Justice with an Associate’s degree from Lanier Technical College in 2006.

Yvonne’s brother Stan has been her inspiration and hero in every facet of her life. He was stricken with Encephalitis at the tender age of nine months. He has defied every roadblock placed in his way and has been the driving force in every one of her accomplishments. He is the one who taught her never to give up

How Child Protection Services Buys and Sells Our Children 
Hello Mrs. Mason,
I am going through living hell with CPS of Pinellas county due to their complete incompetense in dealing with a mentally ill mother (Borderline Personality Disorder). The mother has ‘manipulated’ many professional to take her side and not follow protocols/guidelines…such as: school principal, school counselor, CPS investigators, sheriff officers and others.
In fighting her for the past 9 years, I have exhausted all funds and now find myself trying to fight as a pro-se litigant against a scum-bucket lawyer she has.
Any suggestions / advise?

See if there are any attorneys in your county who will work pro bono- If you can find one get them to help you. Without knowing all of the facts it would be very hard to give a specific answer. Without seeing paper work it would be almost impossible. The best thing you can do is keep a journal, keep messages, keep copies of conversations. Record those if possible. Keep copies of broken dates, where she has been caught in lies, that sort of thing. Keep copies of every converstation you have with CPS make them give you what is in the file. Yes, they will keep some things out simply because they do operate under the guise of secrecy. But you can demand the file. Just keep excellent records. Change the rules. Make them work for you. not against you

Hello.I am a 37 year old mother of four;married for 20 years now.My 15 year old son was a “victim” of the Juvenile Justice System in Michigan;and as a result I’ve taken on an interest in Advocacy/Reform in the CPS/DHS/JJS branches of Government.
He was finally “given-back” on July 9,2010.However I have continued on in my research,and what I found,from the very beginning,was that the same-old-story applied [as to typical-targets and effect];low-income;money-grubbing;lies;twisted-facts;big-government-incentives to withhold children;ect;ect.
That’s the “short-version” of course LOL So,onto my reason for commenting here;I’m now attempting to find any/all strong;well-versed;and well-ran Sites that deal in so-called Legal-Kidnapping and State-Sponsored-Child-Abuse.My hope is to encourage as many of you as possible,to begin including [if nothing else at least] “basic” coverage of the Juvenile Systems as well.
My son was taken in 2007,at 13 years old for “behavioral issues” vs criminal issues;again,we did not get him back until this month [at almost 16 years old now].In my search for help/education;I was astonished to find very-little on the abuses of the JJS [in comparison to CPS/DHS/ect].
Everytime I used Google;CPS/DHS cases were coming-up.That’s when I made the connection and decided I’d combine the two issues and my advocacy.I recently joined “Kidjacked.Com” after reading the personal story of the Creator-Annette-a former Foster Child with a story of “classic” abuse and the resulting corruption.I am now blogging on there.

Passaic County, NJ Family Court Judge Michael K. Diamond returned 5 year old boy to foster mother who admitted she hit him, hospital report cites “physical abuse, corporal punishment by foster mother” Boy was removed due to “arguing” between his parents, never abused, nor neglected by either parent who have now divorced and have been fighting for return of their son to either of them. Judge ordered return “no later than 12/31/2007”, now almost 3 years later, they claim his is “bonded” with the woman who hit him, foster mother’s psych report shows extensive history of head injuries to foster children (1 “hit himself in the head with a shovel”), alcoholism, mental problems and her 2 previous adoptions failed miserably….29 year old son she adopted as a child confined to state mental hospital, his 28 year old brother who she also adopted moved to Utah who posts his favorite past times as “drinking and screwing as many women as I can” his favorite Quote “I could f…..g care less”. We are trying to go to NJ Supreme Court, the law guardian makes up stories (she is a personal friend of the foster “mother” the deputy attorney general tells her own lies, the judge tells the immigrant biological father “I don’t like you, I don’t like the way you look & as long as I am sitting on this bench, I will keep your case with me and make sure you never get your son back” This was 7 months before he sat as the “impartial” judge at the termination of parental rights trial. I have audio, video, digital photos, transcripts, DYFS reports, hospital reports. Just need the right way to get the story out without damaging the case further (attorney advice) because the judge put a gag order & promised to prosecute anyone who releases anything to the media “or anywhere else”. Judge is retiring end of October or November.

CPS Steals Kids for other funds also. Check out your CPS financial records for “Program Income”. I am/was an attorney for parents in Luzerne County, Pa. Home of the “Kids for Cash” scandal. Our CPS makes that scandal seem like a minor infraction!
They are and have been seeking out kids for placement that receive SS or SSI and keep them longer than other kids. CPS collects the social security payments and it becomes program income. This is important because program income can be used in any of the 33 cost categories in the CPS budget. It is not restricted money.
CPS uses their regular budget to pay Foster parents etc for these kids then seeks reinbursement for State and Federal money. They are double dipping and accruring unrestricted money to pay the bloated amount of salaries for the excess political employees in CPS.
Our county portion of the budget last year was $5m and Program Income was $869,000.00. They collected over 17% of the county budget through this additional money. The two previous years program income were $1,026,000.00 and $1,500,000.00. They have decreased it beause they know that they are being watched.
Check out how many kids are receiving social security in your county, I am sure you will be shocked both at the number of kids and amount of money.

I am a 47 year old grandmother, My name is Farina Thompson.
My grandchildren are in foster care in the state of oklahoma. They have been in the system since March 2 2006. I have been fighting hard to get them out
I have even moved to Oklahoma from my home state on the West Coast.
My grandchildren’s case has not been properly processed.
The Judge in the case has a personal vendetta against me. That goes for the DA aswell.
I’ve submitted:
1. Guardinaship of the children
2. Haebius Corpus
3. Adorption papers
4. Visitation of the children
And nothing has been done. The judge he has not acted in favor of me in anything that I’ve provided, To get my grandsons home.
I’m having a hard time here in the state of Oklahoma.
The childrens’ mother, she relinquished her parental rights on 9/15/09. She is no longer in the case.
I’m the only one fighting for my grandsons.
The judge on the last court hearing. Which the judge moved the court date up by one day. I missed that day. 2/8/2011. It was originally set for 2/9/2011. I wasn’t informed of the changed.
On that court date. I found out that, I was dismissed from the case.
The judge, he dismissed me from the case. My grandsons.

The judge he doesn’t even allow me to visit with my own grandchildren. Not even phone calls or school pictures.
This is killing me inside. It’s so emotional.
My grandchildren has been in the system far to long and I have to get them out of there.
This judge isn’t right for me. Or my grandchildren, for as that goes. This is wrong.
We have been treated injusticely. This is an attack on me personally.
In the state of Oklahoma, I understand that there isn’t no grandparents rights. At least that’s what I continue to get from others.
I’m no felon, nor have I ever been to prison. Yet the judge hasn’t given my grandchildren.
Judge Kirby will not order dhs to give me a home study to get my grandchildren out of foster care.
Ms Mason, Do you know anything regarding the laws of this state of Oklahoma?
My grandchildren, 5 boys, are all spreaded out in the foster care system. Their ages are 14, 12, 11, 10, and 7 for this year.
Do you have any suggestions as what could be done to resolve this case?
This is puzzling to me? I don’t understand this at all.
In the best interest of the child or children? My grandchildren are suffering in the system. Being away from their family and love-ones.

My husband and I pursued adoption through DFCS in Coweta County, GA. We attended IMPACT classes and complied with every request from DFCS officials in a timely manner. However, from the time we completed IMPACT training in November 2010, there was NO contact from ANY DFCS personnel. My husband and/or I initiated every contact with DFCS to inquire about the status of our report. In February 2011, we were told that there was a problem. We were given NO information as to what the problem was or whether we could correct the problem. Another 3 weeks went by with NO contact. We contacted DFCS again in March and were told that we should contact the supervisor. We complied with this request. Later that week, we received a letter that our home had been denied as a resource for DFCS. I have contacted the Regional office and supposedly they have contacted someone from the state. They have chosen to uphold the county director’s decision to deny our home. They state there is no appeal process for us to pursue in this matter. Our criminal history was fine. We passed our drug tests. They are telling us that our references (my father, my mother in-law and a close family friend) were negative. We provided about 10 references but only 3 were contacted. My husband and I have good jobs (he is an aircraft mechanic & I am a Kindergarten teacher). We both have been at the same jobs for 15+ years. We have a nice, large home in a nice family oriented neighborhood. We are at a complete loss for why DFCS feels that we are unfit to become Foster to Adopt parents. Can you give us some insight into whether we can appeal this decision? We have contacted so many people who just pass the buck to someone else. We have gotten such a run around with lip service to how “they NEED foster & adoptive parents”. I think that theses people are ALL a bunch of liars! We would appreciate any advice that you can give us. Thanks so much.

hi mrs. mason ive been reading and lookin up ur info.btw its great that ur doin something and showing parents like my self thats been caught up with the dfcs scandels … i wish ive known this when they took my kids away back in 2009 my son is with is father cuz of his legal age.my daughter age 16 is now adopted by wonderful parents i was lucky on that i can still contact her ..but my only problem is im tryin to find some kind of info in my other daughter age 14 shes been adopted as what i was told but my question is how do i find her i dont kno where shes at all i kno she is georgia how do u find a child when my parenatal rights been taken away and how would i find my child if her last name has been changed ive been thru soo much emotional stress over this i just wanna know if my lil gurl is well taken care of she has mildy autism and mid tone deaf she cant really talk due to her deafness the foster parents adopted her ive been thru hell with the dfcs and faulse allegations and lies due to this im with out my kids and everyday i just pray to god to watch over them is there any way we can fight this with dfcs takin away mine and others children that shouldnt been taken away in the first place ppl dont kno how much emotional,stress,lost feelings,anger,sadness,depression,ect it goes on when u lose ur children its like rippin a life inside of u and welfare takes for granted just for money but leaves parents childless and no hope to live this needs to stop i just want some kind of info about my daughter just to kno shes is okay and happy or sad even a picture of her would make me happy to see her face again the adoted parents wont let my other daughter see her before she was adopted she was suppose to get her last visitation with her sister ..but it never happened ..the foster parent was soo quick to adopt my lil daughter and stoped everything she stopped no siblings to see her no contacts from family … how can they do that … i need answers … any kind of help would be great ..and i do appreciate all what ur doing by helpin me n others thats been in this situation with dfcs like i said i wish ive known before my kids were taken away ive been doing alot of reading and lookin at other comments from other mothers thats been in the same situation as myself its good too know im not the only one thank you mrs.mason ur an angel for showing us this xxxx

Hi, I am looking for a pro-bono lawyer in the Jackson County area with no luck. My children have been placed with their father and I cannot see my children or have any contact with them. I have been caring for them since the day they were born and now the father and his mother have filed bogus charges against me. I need help and don’t know what to do. I make to much money for court appointed aid and don’t make enought to retain on myself. I cannot get in touch with the woman in the Junivelle Court in regards to my case and any voicemails I leave her go unanswered. I have been suffering emotionally since this has happened. Can you please call me? i am trying to save my babies and as many others as I can but I am a little overwhelmed here and I could use some advise.I am not a victim, I am a survivor!I hope that I have passed that on to my kids who are being abused right now in Colorado foster care.My kids were taken from their sleep because I stood up for my rights.When I did the cops beat me arrested me and then went after my kids to teach me a lesson.They were taken saying there was a protective order between my husband and us. there was not. that was put in place when my daughter had a bladder infection and CPS tried to say it was sexual abuse. we won that case and the po was dropped 6 years ago. I have read over so many things you have here and I had a question. Judge Whitwell is over a case that I and my husband are involved in. She told me on Wednesday that if I did not get a divorce that she was taking my kids away. Do you know if she can really do that? I am not living with him currently, I am living with my father. But money is tight and do not think that I can truly afford a divorce right now. I can’t lose my kids, I have done nothing but comply with everything DFACS has said. I have done nothing to even have anyone threaten to take my kids away. I guess I just don’t understand all this and I can not keep my mind on anything except thinking that Whitwell is going to decide one day to just go snatch my kids from school. I am a father of five. Three of my children were taken away from me in 2008 while I was incarcerated for a crime I did not commit, based on a lie by the mother of my three kids. She willing signed away rights to our kids after putting me behind bars and was going to be away from them for three years and now, its for life. Many say so the kids would get a better life but what was so wrong with my method of raising my children? Nothing. I was created to be this monster who at the very least needed to be grateful to even be given his constitutional right to be present (via prison phone) at the hearing. The flat out one sided portrayal of me and my upbringing, that was the main factor in removing me from my parental rights. Lies and multiple errors in the case were very apparent (and cocky to be blunt) on the actions taken in this process of my constitutional rights being trampled on and taken away. There was lack of professionalism from the guardian ad litem, also a multiple conflicts of interest, and the lawyers were in it for monetary gain and NOT for the best interest of the children. That was put on the back burner when the family, who wanted to adopt my kids, became present. They are distant relatives of my kids mother, they allow her to see them and talk to them while I get threats of getting another charge if I try to call my kids who are still wondering what REALLY happen to daddy. I haven’t been allowed to be in contact with them for almost 4 years now. But this adoptive family paint their beautiful picture with my kids while mine became apparent that I played the role of the villian, the destroyer of my own kids life. My plans for my kids was never asked from me or even considered to be feasible. I lost even before I stepped into the Olmsted County courtroom….. when my family life became the courts circus. No one asked me if I was okay, no one asked my kids if they were ok with the choices that were made in taking their father away from them without giving me a fighting chance. I’m left with the hole in my life because of bad choices that were made by many people. My sentence is for life, not just what the judge ordered.

Yvonne, My name is Donna Weathers and I have cases with DFCS in Banks County and yes Judge Guidry is presiding over this. I have had two court appointed attorneys who have done nothing. Yvonne, me, my daughter, her 2 year old son, my sister, her daughter and her 3 yr old son and 1 yr old daughter lived in the same house…my sister got mad about something, dunno exactly what, back the first of june, and filed eviction on my daughter and called defacs on her here in ga(coweta county). defacs came out a few days later late at night and it was me, my daughter and niece and the 3 children at home…my sister was at work..it was 2 workers…it went fine, and when they found out it was a “spite” phone call the male worker was a little miffed because it was 1130 pm at night…so the woman worker came back out 1 month later, mostly to interview my sister since she wasn’t home the first time, and to close the case…it went fine..,.but as the woman got ready to go, my sister started talking all sorts of crap, and trying to file a case on my other daughter who doesn’t live with us, so i simply and calmly told anita to just stop it..her daughter had also been telling her to stop it and shut up…anita went postal…well the woman left, and we were all ordered the next morning to meet with the children at defacs for a meeting…well, me and my daughter were given until july 31st to get out and anita was given 30 days…my daughter left that day and moved to her dads house…now, defacs has come out the other night and re questioned her, claiming medical neglect because logan was not up to date on his shots, and because he has to have an eye sugery on his eye lids…its not affecting his vision, but the specialists wanted to wait until between 2 and 3 yrs of age so they can harvest muscle tissue from his thigh and form the sling necessary to correctly open his eyelids fully, if they use synthetic material then the sugery would have to be re done in 4-5 yrs, but by using his own muscle tissue, it almost never has to be repeated…so because she has not had this done they are saying medical neglect…they also drug tested her, her father and step mother…on her they did 4 tests…2 pee tests, hair folicle, and a salavia test…also today they are making her do an evaluation for his developement, and mind you he is very advanced for his age….just one thing after another…i called a pro bono place today, and i was told that she can call defacs and request a court appointed attorney even though it has not come to any court proceedings yet…I DO NOT WANT MY GRANDSON TAKEN FROM HIS MOTHER…SHE IS A GOOD MOTHER…and i am already sick of these people…i need to know how to go about securing an attorney to help in this area who will actually be on our side, not theirs….i do not have alot of income, but am willing to pay a little if necessary….please help if you can, before it gets much worse..

Today is Thanksgiving a holiday that is celebrated for many different reasons. The season where the leaves fall as the wind blows and the trees are howling for they know the climate has changed. This is the time were family ties are rekindled and loved ones are near, however, CPS (child protective services) does not care to unify families at all. IN fact, they seem to be a small group of people in towns, cities and neighborhoods who make major life decisions for families.
Today, on thanksgiving a 8 day old baby is in foster care away from her mother who was breast feeding her. CPS came into a clean home where there was no apparent danger or imminent harm. and caused trauma to all of the individuals in the home. The papers were filed to take the new born infant out of the home an hour prior to taking her without any formal investigation. CPS worker Nick has overstepped his boundaries and has compromised his position as a CPS worker by violating all of the rights of the mother in the case. Dalia Kenbar (the mother) has been fighting CPS for the past few years. They have already removed her 8 year old son 8 months ago and put him in foster care as well. There is no substantial evidence that is a true causation for CPS to remove Dalia’s children out of her care.
Despite the allegations against Mrs. Kenbar being dropped, the CPS worker declared war against her by finding anything to slander her name and take her children. On Novemeber 27, 2013 at approximately 5:00 the door bell had rung on 9738 Ravenshire Dr. The police spoke with the son of the homeowner saying that they were just there to “check” on the mother to see if she was in suitable living conditions. An hour later and 5 more officers including the Sheriff had arrived on the scene. Dalia’s lawyer had rushed to the home with her family to defend her client. The lawyer had spoken to the prosecuting attorney who was in agreement to not remove the infant from the home. Nick the CPS worker continued to pursue the kidnapping of the infant. Brutal force was used by the many police officers, they pushed children, pinned a young female University of Michigan college student to the floor and arrested her. The scene was from a bizarre movie as they took the infant without any clothes or blankets into the cold weather. They treated the individuals in the home as terrorist. They not once considered the facts of Dalia Kenbar’s case and went forward in kidnapping the infant on trumped up charges. This case has happened to other women and children around our world, because there are no checks and balances with the foster care program. Lets pull together as a nation and fight for these children and families alike with similar situations against people that kidnap children from homes. The system has failed once again and has traded an infant for a mere piece of paper. Dalia Kenbar is not only the victim but has wanted to raise her children in American soil that her mother had died fighting as a translator for our country. Please respond because this was a high class kidnapping that needs to be addressed to many ears and eyes.

My husband and I have a blended family of 5. I had 3 previously and he had 1 and then we had one together. I have full custody of my 3 older children and we won custody of his child last year after a 1 1/2 year battle in 2 courts after she had been removed from her mother for very legitimate reasons. We cooperated fully with dhs during this time and both dhs and the youth court ad litem testified on our behalf in front of the very pro mom chancery court judge. We were the first case that judge had given custody to a father in over 5 years. 6 months later (right after the papers actuLly arrived) the maternal grandmother filed a false allegation with dhs against us and her friend from church just so happened to be the investigator who showed up. She complained only abour her granddaughter (1 of 5) and in the 6 months prior had gone out and gotten her foster care license. They took my stepdaughter because of what the investigator called a “gut feeling.” They ordered forensic interviews that turned up nothing at all as there was nothing going on. They then removed my 4 children over w weeks later. There are no allegations of abuse, neglect, drugs use, unfit living conditions. Nothing. The children are all straight a students (the 3 in school that is) and the main objection it seems is that we have followed the advise of a very intense therapy team who sees my stepdaughter due to issues she has from what happened prior to coming to live with us. They are in my home 3 days a week for 3 to 6 hours a week and are mandated reporters but their testimony that we are good parents has been dismissed in favor of a caseworker who has been in my home for 1 hour under abnormal circumstances. They have complained that the kids get time outs if they do something wrong and call this “isolation.” We have an attorney who is helping us fight this and is very good at what he does. This is a brief overview and there is SO much more really but everyone…..our attorney, the prosecuter, the therapy team we work with, the town in general cannot believe this has happened. We plan on taking this to the next level once it is over and it appears we are getting close to the finish line. Whereas the maternal grandmother got what she wanted and has my stepdaughter my other 4 kids are split into 2 different homes with strangers. I cannot and will not allow this to have happened in a vaine and we want to sue the state. Our attorney is amazing and I know he will help but its just him at his firm and he wont have the resources to fight that type of battle. I am hoping to find someone who can help us force some change in this system that is so beyond broken that we are allowing the state to damage perfect children. Im sorry I posted about my case but honestly since everything started with my stepdaughter 2 years ago all I have done is research and am extremely interested in getting a non profit put together to try to force some legislative change. My background is politics but it takes a collaborative effort to put together a great non profit. Anyone who may be interested in helping or sharing a story from your area that may give me a better idea of what is going on outside om my specific area or evsn in my area honestly please feel free to contact me. My names is Mikala Sanford. I have been dealing with cps since june of this year. I’ve had five or six case workers and its all been one time meet don’t hear anything and then i hear from a whole new case worker. I just found out I’m now pregnant with me and my husband’s second child and yesterday after our recent cps visit from a new caseworker i had recieved a call from the caseworker saying her supervisor said my husband had to leave bc he couldn’t pass a drug test atm. yet he stopped smoking marijuana and is about to join the air force so he can take care of his family. they informed if my husband would not leave by the end of that night that they would get a court order to have him removed from our home. he isn’t a danger to our son or me. and when i told the supervisor that if he left i would basically be a stranded pregnant mother in the middle of nowhere with no one to et anywhere in case of an emergency. and she blantly told me she didn’t care what happened to me even if I’m pregnant or if that made my husband homeless. is this legal for them to do? I’m half tempted to tell them that they can go ahead and send the court order and i will fight them in court and i will send it to the news station. i don’t knw what to do anymore. I’m extremely stressed and i don’t knw what to do and I’m scared that the stress from cps will cause me to miscarriage my unborn child. please any advice would help please 😦
