Help reform this nation’s child welfare systems to place children and families first instead of state & federal funding.

Help reform this nation’s child welfare systems to place children and families first instead of state & federal funding.

This petition is necessary because states have used the Adoption & Safe families act as an incentive to kidnap children from healthy, loving families, & terminate parent/child relationships in favor of adoption when reunification would truly be in the child’s best interest. States receive more federal funding for terminating child/parent relationships than for focusing on reunification when this would be in the best interest of the child. In many cases these children are never adopted, leading to an overwhelmed foster care system where children are being abused, used as medical guinea pigs, & even killed. The majority of youth who age out of care are becoming homeless, not receiving higher education, & being incarcerated. Please acknowledge this corruption and help fix this broken system.

One Response to Help reform this nation’s child welfare systems to place children and families first instead of state & federal funding.

  1. Alas,

I believe that the only to “fix” anything of it, is to totally disband what we have now, and replace it with a more-grassroots, local agency with powers limited to advisory and investigatory, while the court (and not some separate “family court”) handles the legal end of things.

We should never have had any such entities formed under these circumstances to begin with. The Constitutions of the United States and the several states never supported the state as the “big nanny”. The citizenry did well enough with a properly-functioning court system. These “CPS’s” invent crimes and charges so as to fill their files with numbers; greater numbers = more money come contract-renewals time.

I can not, in good conscience, support maintaining anything like the CPS-racket we have now. It was created by those who wanted to destroy the family. Therefore, this system does as it was originally designed to do.
