Great Kingfish Captains of Fort Pierce, Florida Tell Their Stories

My books are about unique and interesting people as much as they are about fishing and the sea. People are drawn to sea adventures and learning about the history of the captains that live them. My books capture rich Florida history that would otherwise be lost.  They chronicle the personal lives and sea adventures of seasoned commercial  and charter captains.

My first book, Great Kingfish Captains, of Fort Pierce, Florida, Tell Their Stories includes biographies of five renowned senior commercial Kingfish captains from Fort Pierce, Florida.

My second book, Great Florida Fishing Captains Tell Their Stories includes three commercial Captains and two charter captains who are all well known from Cape Canaveral to the Palm Beaches and beyond. Two share their Vietnam experiences and one shares his beginnings as a Cuban Revolutionary and fisherman. The latter grew up in Cojimar, Cuba and auditioned for the part of the boy in the film, “Old Man and the Sea”.

A history of Florida commercial King fishing, Shark fishing, Sword fishing  and Florida charter fishing evolves through both book’s narratives. One of the charter captains in the the second book just swept the 2011 Bahamas Billfish Tournament series. All of the stories are “priceless.”

I hope to continue collecting, transcribing and archiving these valuable and timely narratives. Other great Florida captains are dying with their stories left untold.
