The reason they are running out of room is the same reason in every county in every state. CPS is stealing children for porfit. They will continue to run out of room as they continue to snatch children.
This is the season when Treasure Coast residents express their love and generosity to family and friends and to strangers in need.
For children in homes where they have been abused or neglected, that spirit of giving is needed every day from caring foster parents who take them in and give them some stability in their lives.
Since 2002, the nonprofit agency overseeing services for children on the Treasure Coast has been United for Families, which contracts with Hibiscus Children’s Center for the recruitment and training of foster parents.
According to Christine Demetriades, executive director of United for Families, about 380 children on the Treasure Coast have been removed from the homes of their parents and placed in the homes of relatives or friends of the family. Dozens are in shelters or group homes and about 130 are in traditional foster homes.
