U.S.: DHS Accused Of Forcing Teen Into Late-Term Abortion

And this was in the best interest of the child HOW??? Who died and left the caseworker in charge of being GOD? This should be a criminal act and charges should be filed against the case worker for inficide. How dare they!

A 16 year old mother pregnant with her second child was allegedly forced into having an abortion by the Department of Human Services after a case worker threatened to take away her children if she gave birth again.

The teen’s birth-mother claimed that her daughter wanted the baby, however after consultation with several representatives from Human Services, including her case worker, who had previously threatened to take her first child away if she did not send it to day care, the teen decided to have an abortion.

As the teen was a minor she required parental consent to have an abortion, which neither her foster-mother or birth-mother gave. However, the abortion was successfully performed after the Department of Human Services obtained a judge’s order for the abortion to go ahead.

The late term abortion, performed after 24 weeks took place in New Jersey, as abortions performed after 24 weeks are illegal in Pennsylvania. A late-term abortion is a two to three day process. On the first day, the fetus is injected with a substance that stops its heart, and dilation is begun. On the second or third day, the dead fetus is extracted.

Abortions performed under judge’s order are not uncommon in Philadelphia. Philadelphia’s Deputy Mayor confirmed that since September 2006, at least 54 abortions had been performed on teenage girls in the care of DHS by judge’s order.

An employee working for an organization subcontracting to DHS who refused to take the teen for her abortion was later fired.
