State Hegemony Over Parent’s Rights,
Georgia Couple Needs Help-Fast
[Editor’s Note: I called Melody Roscoe on the phone after receiving the e-mail reposted below. The details she revealed over the phone were even more astounding than what she had written in her letter. In order to flesh out the story with greater clarity, I’ve inserted editorial brackets [ ] within the body of the e-mail and added some additional details provided by Melody over the phone so the reader can more fully appreciate who the players are and the depth of official corruption taking place here against this couple, whose only crime, that I can determine so far, is that of poverty. If they were able to pay for a competent attorney, this case would have never gone beyond the first hearing. As it stands, they have lost custody of their kids since August 19 and the judge in this case has ordered their two small children to be immunized against the parents’ will, even though the parents complied with Gerogia state law and submitted the required affidavits of vaccine exemptions. If you are in the legal profession and can offer advice or other forms of assistance, please contact Melody or her sister (see bottom of page), as the Public Defender is this case is simply doing nothing to help them.

Subject: My sister’s rights have been violated by the judge of juvenile in Lamar Co. Ga.
My name is Melody Roscoe. On August 19, Lamar County Georgia DFCS [Department of Family and Children Services] came to my sister’s home because of my sister’s employer [female manager of the gas station where the sister was employed at the time] stating that there was abuse in the house between my sister and her husband. The DFCS and deputies of the Lamar County Sheriff’s office gave my sister no choice in keeping her kids. They brought them out here to my mom’s house. They made no reasonable effort to keep the kids in their own home like DFCS are SUPOSSED to do, prior to removing them.
The kids stayed here at my mom’s house for five days and the DFCS [ DFCS case worker Gwendelyn Byrd, and Lamarr County Deputy Sheriff Chuck Ledbetter] came out here again and tried to take the kids without having a court order in their posession. I made sure that they went and got it before I would allow them to take the kid
It has been a long battle for my sister and her husband. They kept her from seeing her kids for a full month and when she finally did get to see them again, the kids had bruise marks on them. We took some pictures, but they didn’t come out so good. But you can still see some of the darker marks. Since DFCS couldn’t present any evidence of abuse between my sister and her husband, they are now going for child deprivation.
There are only five ways to deprive a child: housing, clothing, food, medical and education. The kids are one and two years old, so they don’t need education as of yet. Everything else they had! The judge [ Judge Sharon J. Whitwell ] kicked me out of her court saying that I was “commiting perjury” and they took the word of two drug users [one accuser being the female manager who filed the initial abuse report with DFCS and the other one being another employee of the same gas station] who were under investigation by DFCS [the female manager was under investigation by DFCS, but DFCS dropped the case against her after she testified for the state] until my sister’s case comes up. I am not allowed in her court or I will be arrested. So I have been helping my sister behind the scenes by getting her laws and proof.
Today, the judge ordered the immunization of my sister’s two kids, against the notarized document that my sister presented in court today that said it violated their religious beliefs to vaccinate their kids.
According to Georgia code 20-2-771 (e),
” This Code section shall not apply to a child whose parent or legal guardian objects to immunization of the child on the grounds that the immunization conflicts with the religious beliefs of the parent or guardian; however, the immunization may be required in cases when such disease is in epidemic stages. For a child to be exempt from immunization on religious grounds, the parent or guardian must first furnish the responsible official of the school or facility an affidavit in which the parent or guardian swears or affirms that the immunization required conflicts with the religious beliefs of the parent or guardian. ”
This judge also kicked my sister out of the courtroom today because she was crying. WELL WHAT DO THEY EXPECT?! If it were my kids, I would do the same as a loving and very caring mother!
Please help us in some way. We tried to get in touch with our represenative and he would not return our calls. We are at our last straw here and we desperately need help from someone. I gave my sister about six hundred pages of evidence to present in court today and her lawyer would not even present it.
What he did present, the judge got very angry and said it was not enough. If something isn’t done now, then these kids will recieve their shots in a matter of days. Please, I am begging you, I have tried and done all that I feel like I can do for my sister and all I get is negative. It’s like through all the confusion God doesn’t hear me, even though I know he does. My sister’s rights have been violated and we all know this, but everywhere we turn we don’t get anything but alot of talk instead of doing.
If you have ANY information that can help us to fight them, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Below are links to sights I found about Judge Whitwell and Ashley Hawkins. This is so disturbing and I cannot believe this is actually going on.
This is a letter that he wrote talking about lying to cover something up.
This is about DFACS in Lamar county “kidnapping” children and how it was done…ILLEGALLY
More about that story
This is about them trying to force Ritalin on kids.
This is about how a man convicted of killing a baby was allowed by Judge Whitwell to visit a child while in jail.
This is about another illegal kidnapping conducted by Judge Whitwell.
This site talks about some of the reasons children are “lost” in the system
Let me know if any of this is of any use to you. It clearly tells that this Judge and Ashley Hawkins are corrupt and need to be sent to prison. It clearly says on one site I sent :
Lamar County Juvenile Judge
CHARGE- Conspiracy To Kidnapping Many Georgia Children; Perjury; Blatantly Holding Illegal Hearings WITHOUT DUE PROCESS OF LAW.
And she is the one resposible for having my babies taken from me.

I am writing you because I am terrified. After a long battle with the courts over vaccinating our sons, the judge ordered it be done even though we presented signed and notorized afidavits stating we didn’t wanting it done because of religious reasons. They were vaccinated some time this week and today when I went to see them, something was wrong with my youngest son Joey. They said he had a cold and so I was just sitting there holding him and then all of a sudden, he threw up on me. Then he looked right at me and passed out. My husband tried to awaken him and he didn’t respond. Then he would wake up, look at me and pass out. I called DFACS and they said my sons had gotten a whole bunch of shots. I told them if anytyhing happens to them, THEY are responsible. Please contact me when you can. I am terrified for my sons. Please pray for them.
